A poem by Cara Jade

When past memories resurface
Distant promises have faded
Love gone and forgotten
Still the breeze blows through with waves of resurgence
Of a covenant once made and long broken
Distant times unhealed and open
As time moves on and you still remain choked
Of a life once dreamed and now revoked
Close your eyes and drift away
For in sleep and into another day
Those memories will slowly fade away
And a new life will rise through
Though it’s hard to imagine for you once thought this is it, this is you
